Sample itinerary of a Moab, Bryce and Zion tour
Day 1, Salt Lake City – Moab
After picking you up at your hotel in Salt Lake, we’ll
drive to world famous Moab Utah. Once there we’ll
check into our hotel, have dinner and then spend
the evening checking out Moab.
Day 2, Moab
Today, after breakfast, we’ll start with a morning ride to Klondike Bluffs
in Arches National park. Along the way, we’ll stop to explore dinosaur
tracks, and the wonderful scenery along the way. We’ll then enjoy a
picnic lunch, before heading off on the Monitor and Merrimack trail.
After the ride (time permitting), we’ll visit Dead Horse Point State Park
for some amazing views into Canyonlands National Park, the White Rim
and the Colorado River.
Day 3, Moab
This morning we’ll have our first taste of canyoneering. We’ll start
near the Slickrock Trail and hike down toward Prospector Bill Canyon.
Before long we’ll come to our first rappel, a 70 footer into the “Hidden
Chamber”, which will bring us to the top of Morning Glory Arch. After
rappelling off Morning Glory Arch (an experience not soon forgotten)
we’ll continue hiking down beautiful Prospector Bill Canyon to our ride
waiting at the Colorado River. After lunch, we’ll choose a nice afternoon
ride to finish the day.
Day 4 Moab-Irish Canyons-Bryce
Today we’ll get an early start and head toward Bryce Canyon, stopping
along the way to explore the Irish Canyons. These marvelous slot
canyons will test our mettle with several long rappels, lots of down-
climbing and bridging. You’ve likely never seen anything like this. After
the Irish Canyons, we’ll finish our drive to Bryce Canyon where we’ll
spend the night at the Bryce Canyon Lodge.
Day 5, Bryce
Today, we’ll rise early and enjoy the sun-rise over Bryce Canyon before
choosing a morning hike. After our hike, we’ll return to the lodge for
lunch, before heading off to ride what we believe is the most beautiful
mountain bike trail in Utah, Thunder Mountain Trail. Tonight we’ll enjoy
the sunset before spending another night at Bryce Canyon Lodge.
Day 6, Bryce-Zion
Today we’ll shuttle to Zion National Park where, after enjoying lunch at
one of our favorite restaraunts in Spridale, we’ll choose an afternoon
hike before boarding our bikes and heading off to the trail-head. Zion
has some of the most spectacular hikes in the world and whichever we
pick, you won’t be disappointed.
Day 7, Zion – Oak Creek Canyon
This morning, we’ll shuttle to Oak Creek Canyon for the last of our
canyoneering adventures. After lunch on our return to Zion, we’ll ride
the fun, fast single track of the JEM trail.
Day 8, Bryce
Today, we’ll have just enough time to enjoy a morning ride up the
canyon before shuttling back to Salt Lake City where we’ll arrive around
3:00 PM
