Copper Canyon Mexico
The Copper Canyon area of Northern Mexico is actually an area of many
canyons and gorges, five of which are deeper than the Grand Canyon. It
is an area of many beautiful and diverse ecosystems. From the cool pine
forests of the mountains, to the oak forests of the middle elevations, to
the subtropical environments of the canyon floors, it is like nowhere else
on Earth. It is an area of amazing beauty and mystery. While only 250
miles from El Paso Texas, it remains one of the most remote areas in North
America. The area is inhabited by the Tarahumara Indians, whose culture
has been better preserved than any other indigenous group in North America.
Visiting the area is often compared to going back in time. On top of all that,
there are miles and miles of sweet singletrack.
Grand Canyon North Rim
On this trip, we'll mountain bike in the beautiful Kaibab Plateau above the
Grand Canyon. The Kaibab Plateau lies at over 7,000 feet, so we'll spend our
time in beautiful pine and aspen forests with amazing views into the Grand
Canyon. We'll start with the famous Arizona Trail with views of the East Rim
and then head over to the new Rainbow Rim Trail with views into the canyon
from the West side of the plateau.
